The Opportunity 
We are looking for an accomplished Accounting Technician to join our team as part of our financial services business in the Cayman Islands.
  
The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Your responsibilities will include:
 
  • Manage and monitor reconciliations between our accounting systems to external parties’ statements
  • Sorting, organizing, and reconciling these high volume transactions and upholding accounting policies and internal process in a timely manner.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting, provide oversight of financial cycles such as cash receipts, accounts payable (including liaising with external vendors), billings and accruals
  • As a member of the Finance team, they will be expected to provide operations support on an ad hoc basis
What You Bring 
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:  
 
  • The successful candidate will be a University graduate or associate, preferably in business administration, finance or accounting with an excellent academic background; 
  • Will demonstrate a strong ability to complete tasks in a timely manner in accordance with client protocols,  
  • Ability to work well under pressure in order to meet client and regulatory deadlines; 
  • Ability to multi-task; 
  • Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail;  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;   
  • Be able to liaise externally with clients at various levels and internally at the Maples Group; 
  • Will consistently strive for excellence, take pride in executing their responsibilities efficiently and accurately, and proactively look for opportunities to recommend improvements to systems and processes.
